Let me begin by telling everyone there is more to New York than New York City, Buffalo and Albany! Not only did I love seeing all our great bail agents, but there are so many sights in New York State that should be on your bucket list! The only site we saw, in our opinion, that was not bucket list worthy was the Anchor Bar in Buffalo. But if you do go, invite Frank and Kitty Gist to go with you so Frank can tell you “the rest of the story”! Two highlights for the week were opening day at the Saratoga Races and the Finger Lakes. Friday was opening day at Saratoga, we were treated like royalty. Our visit to the races was special as we were guests of the Mayor of Albany, Gerald Jennings, and Hal Goldstein. Being with Mayor Jennings was like being in the presence of a superstar. If all people in politics could take a lesson from him we would not see problems in the political arena. He is a true superstar in Albany and it was a pleasure spending the day with him and Hal and Tina Goldstein. Tim and I are so humbled and grateful for being included in this special event.
Over the weekend Tim and I enjoyed the Finger Lakes of New York. If this area is on your bucket list make Watkins Glen your home base. From there you can take boat or bus tours to visit the numerous wineries. The scenery in this area cannot be described as anything but majestic!
I thank each and every bail agent for taking time out of your busy schedule to meet with me. It was especially nice of David and Linda Brown and Harris Binder and his lovely mother to meet us for dinner on Saturday and Sunday evening. I appreciate all of our New York bail agents and thank them for their professionalism and integrity in running their bail bond offices.
In closing, I would be remiss if I did not send out two special thank you notes. One is to Bill Bernardo, Bill is an elder of the bail industry. I love his spirit, I love how he goes into work every day and I am honored to be his friend and to be able to continue to do business with him and his family. The second thank you goes to Dolores Gist. Dolores is another elder of the bail industry and another special person in the bail industry in New York. I was sad that I was not able to meet with Dolores because of her health but the business is in good hands with Kitty and Frank.
I appreciated my time in New York! Thank you all.
